Kevin is a solid defenseman who is opportunistic with his checks and has good stick work. He does a good job of getting his stick in passing lanes, and is smooth on ground balls. He doesn't throw a ton of checks, but he has good timing and disrupts his man's throwing motion to cause bad passes and shots. He needs to work a little harder at making sure his man stays out of danger areas, but he has the athletic ability to make those changes.
