Ryker is a big strong defenseman who uses his length and large frame to throw devastating takeaway checks. He's not afraid to get physical and throw his body around, and has a good sense of when to slide and stay on a double team. He needs to work a little harder to maintain his positioning, sometimes he relies too much on the takeaway and recovery checks instead of moving his feet.
