Tate is an aggressive defenseman who does a good job of keeping his feet moving when he throws checks. He is athletic and a threat in transition; he isn't afraid to bring the ball upfield himself. I'd like to see him be a little more physical on ball, he uses his stick to try to stop his man as opposed to getting on the hip and shoving him out.
