Grady has an active stick, but does a good job of moving his feet and not solely relying on the stick to do the work. He has good timing on his checks, and is good on the ground. Being a taller defenseman, he has a long reach which players don't anticipate. He's good on the clear, but I'd like to see him be more of a threat to the goal if he is going to play LSM.
